Report: Disney parks won’t accept unaccompanied minors under 14

This makes sense.

The Walt Disney Co. parks, including Walt Disney World in Central Florida and Disneyland in California, have come up with a consistent policy that bans unaccompanied children who are younger than 14. Likewise, if a young kid or kids are at the park, the oldest person in their group must be at least 14.

I know it can be tempting to find a place for tweens and the youngest teens to spend time — especially those who seem as though they might be mature enough to handle amusing themselves for a day at a place meant for the amusement of kids.

Theme parks, however, are not the mall or the movie theater. They’re much larger and there are many more people and it seems to me that there may be many more potential pitfalls.

Do you think Disney’s policy is too strict?
